Simple Acne Treatments
Nowadays, many treatments avaiable for make your acne vanished. Start from the simple untill the advanced treatments. By adopting a lifestyle that promotes general good health the body is given the best chance of functioning correctly. So, whilst it is true that fat in the diet does not necessarily make the skin more oily – it is also true that excess fat in the diet does not support good health. Eating a diet rich in vegetables and fruit with an adequate intake of water is one of the best ways of fortifying the body to resist acne.
Acne is not caused by dirt but the ensuing infection and inflammation is caused by bacteria. It makes sense therefore to keep the skin as clean as possible, using gentle cleansing methods.
Once acne is established it is a case of looking for a cure whilst still taking steps to prevent the situation getting any worse.
Zinc Gluconate, available as a pharmaceutical compound and also as a natural food supplement (depending on the regulations of individual Countries), has been proven to reduce inflammation. In cases of severe inflammation and infection oral antibiotics may be required.
Nicholas Perricone recommends a diet in which dairy products are completely excluded and this was validated by subsequent research that found a link between the incidence of acne and the intake of milk. Another small study found that Chromium supplements helped reduce the incidence of acne.
For some time lasers have been used to reduce scar tissue caused by acne but new research is now underway to find ways of preventing acne by the use of lasers.
Melaleuca Oil (a pure form of Tea-Tree Oil) has proven anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It is also soothing and healing. Commercial Tea Tree products almost certainly do not contain sufficient essential oil nor oil of a pure enough grade to be effective. Sourcing the pure essential oil and adding it to simple base products will almost certainly be a better way of proceeding.
External application of Erythromycin or Benzoyl Peroxide will often help to reduce infection and inflammation thereby reducing the acne spots for a while. However, neither of these preparations treat the underlying cause of acne so symptoms tend to return once treatment stops.
Pantothenic Acid has been used successfully in a trial conducted in Singapore. This appears to work by reducing the amount of oil being secreted allowing the acne to reduce and heal.
